PERKINS: STEAMED OR NO?

Eric P. Newman was being punny when he submitted the following:

"As to Dave Bowers' interesting comment in the December 24 Bulletin that Jacob Perkins was "highly esteemed" in Newburyport and might have made or used a Boulton & Watt type steam coining press I surmise that Perkins was not that "highly esteamed" and neither was the U.S.Mint."
